Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episodes 10, 11 preview: Christmas and flashforwards

Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 10

Hawaii Five-0 season 8 episode 10 is coming on CBS next week, but it’s not coming by itself! There are two episodes coming next week as the CBS show works to send off the show into the holiday hiatus in style. These two episodes help to compensate for the hour Hawaii Five-0 missed earlier this year when it was preempted for the Michael Jackson Halloween special.

We don’t want to beat around the bush too much here — let’s just get into sharing some of the details since there is some super-fun stuff coming to CBS over these two episodes.

Episode 8×10 – “I ka wā ma mua, I ka wā ma hope.” – When Danny is shot while quarantined in the hospital with McGarrett, Tani and Junior, he’s left unconscious and clinging to life, imagining a future for everyone in Five-0, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Friday, Dec. 15 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

On paper, this is one of our favorite Hawaii Five-0 ideas in years. Who doesn’t want to see Danny and Steve fight like an old married couple decades down the road? While we understand that this is just Danny’s fantasy and not necessarily canon, there’s probably going to be a huge part of us that is interested in pretending as though it is.

Episode 8×11 – “’Oni kalalea ke kū a ka lā’au loa”– It’s Christmas Eve and Danny tells Charlie a bedtime story about a recent Five-0 case involving bad Santas and a holiday miracle, on HAWAII FIVE-0, at a special time, Friday, Dec. 15 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. Real-life military veterans Jason Redman, Steven Jackel, Kathryn Taylor-Smith and J. Eddie Martinez guest star as veterans who help McGarrett with the case.

Also, Christmas. Who doesn’t love a Christmas episode, especially one featuring real veterans? There’s a lot to enjoy about this installment when it comes to the narrative structure of it — plus, it’s actually nice to see Danny with his family, given that is not something you really get all that much of per season.

After these episodes Hawaii Five-0 will of course return in the new year and we’ll have more news about it in due time.
