As Absentia finale airs in some parts of the world, here’s how filming concluded
For the cast and crew filming the show, making it to the end of the season is an achievement almost like no other. They worked long hours, often in the cold, and in a foreign country to produce the desired result. While TV may be a labor of love, there are probably a lot of people out there that do often forget that it is, in fact, hard labor. It’s something that takes a good bit of time to come together. You can hear the excitement in the way the cast and crew react to wrapping up in the video below. They made it!
Now, with the finale airing in some of the first countries, they have to now start to prepare for the second season. Filming for the new season will begin in 2018; the US pickup was the icing on the cake towards having this season happen, and what’s going to be interesting with the finale is seeing if it wraps up much of the arc for season 1 — thus setting the stage for something completely new — or if there is some room left open to explore within the season 1 story. Much of that is probably tied to just how confident the Absentia team was in the show being successful and performing well right off the bat.
For some of these viewers who are saying farewell to the series tonight, a lengthy hiatus is about to begin. For some others, the journey is only beginning. No matter when you watch just remember the amount of work that went into the series coupled with the fact that there is more great stuff coming up down the road. If you love Absentia there is no reason to be sad about the end of season 1. More story is coming your way!
