Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 7 preview: Gorilla Grodd arrives

Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episode 7 is more than your ordinary episode of the show — any episode with Gorilla Grodd is! The notorious villain from The Flash will be appearing in this episode entitled “Welcome to the Jungle,” and that’s a problem since these are not characters used to dealing with him.

Another question worth pondering is this: What iteration of Grodd are we talking about here? Is this the same Grodd from the early days of The Flash, the one that Barry faced off against with the team last season, or maybe one even more advanced than any other version we’ve met so far? In one way or another, all of these are feasible.

HEALING FROM THE PAST – With Sara (Caity Lotz) out of commission, the team finds a new Anachronism that leads them to the jungles of Vietnam and right in the middle of the war. Ray (Brandon Routh), Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) and Zari (Tala Ashe) pose as journalists and trek through the jungle when they are lead to time-displaced Gorilla Grodd. Meanwhile, Nate (Nick Zano) and Rory (Dominic Purcell) run into someone Rory knows which give a glimpse into his past. Victor Garber and Franz Drameh also star. Mairzee Almas directed the episode written by Ray Utarnachitt & Tyron B. Carter (#307). Original airdate 11/21/2017.

So who are Rory and Nate going to run into? It’s a little too far into the past for it to be Leonard Snart, even if we know Wentworth Miller is coming back soon for presumably his final stretch as the character. It could be one of his relatives/ancestors, and we’d be thoroughly excited about that given that it’d offer up a chance for us to learn more about why he became the guy that he is in the present.

One more thing to wonder: Is this episode going to be the end of the road for Victor Garber? With the state of the Stein storyline we do know that the character’s set to leave sooner rather than later.
