Grey’s Anatomy celebrates 300th episode with Ellen Pompeo, Jesse Williams appearances

Grey's Anatomy season 14

The Grey’s Anatomy 300th episode is airing on ABC in just over one week’s time, and Ellen Pompeo and Jesse Williams are a part of the celebration in a very big way!

The network confirmed in a statement that Thursday, November 9 is going to be so much more than just the air-date for the milestone episode — this will be a launching point for so much great Grey’s-related programming. This begins on Wednesday, November 8 as series star Williams will be making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The next morning, Pompeo will stop by Good Morning America before making appearances on The View, Live! with Kelly and Ryan, and The Chew. With all of the appearances ABC has her making we’re almost surprised that they don’t have her auditioning for American Idol or guest-starring as an Inhuman on Agents of SHIELD while they are at it.

The 300th episode will air on November 9th, but after that the celebration still isn’t over just yet. Nightline is going to feature a behind-the-scenes piece where Michael Strahan takes you through some of how the show is made.

The basic summation CarterMatt has for you is that if you love Grey’s Anatomy, you’re going to want to either A) stay home from work citing one of the diseases you heard about on the show or B) set your DVR so you can binge as much stuff related to the show as humanly possible when you have some down time.

What’s actually happening in the Grey’s Anatomy 300th episode?

The episode is titled “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story,” the episode will start off with an accident at a county fair. From here, the doctors will start to get a little bit nostalgic regarding some of what transpired with them in the past. There will be appearances from some longtime recurring players and also plenty of emotional highs and lows along the way. Debbie Allen (who is also an executive producer and plays Catherine Avery) is directing the episode, while the episode is being written by executive producer Krista Vernoff. Given that she was around in the early days of the show she may know and understand the proper Grey’s Anatomy tone better than anyone not named Shonda Rhimes.

All in all, shouldn’t this be the perfect week for fans of the show? We say this now, and watch Grey’s Anatomy deliver some sort of devastating shocker where we’re all left with our heads spinning. We’re still reeling from what happened with Riggs departing the show last week.

There’s still one more episode to go…

Thursday’s new episode should help set the stage for the Grey’s Anatomy 300th episode. You can read more about that over here!
