9-1-1 promo: See first look at Connie Britton, Peter Kraus series
Fox is premiering their first-responders series 9-1-1 in January, but you don’t have to wait any longer for a preview!
There are a few different things that are worth noting about this show, starting with the pedigree in front of the camera. You’ve got such great talent at the center of this show as Nashville alum Connie Britton, Angela Bassett of American Horror Story, and former Parenthood and Six Feet Under powerhouse Peter Krause (who has probably been confused quite a few times the past four or five months with that dude from The Bachelorette). Behind the camera the talent here is just as impressive: You’ve got Ryan Murphy of American Horror Story, The People v. OJ Simpson, and so much more as the executive producer. When the idea of this project first started to draw buzz, it didn’t take all that long for Fox to want to bring it on board.
This preview is airing tonight during the World Series, so that should give you a little bit of evidence as to just how much the network wants to ensure big ratings for the show. We also get why they would want to be in business with Murphy again given that Glee was one of the biggest breakout hits in the recent history of Fox. Sure, Scream Queens didn’t quite work anywhere near as well, but we’re not anywhere near as shocked that this show would be all the more appealing to them. There is a lot of mainstream potential to a show like 9-1-1 given that it focuses on people who will probably seem fairly relatable to most people out there.
Also, it helps that there are some big-name stars showing up in here, doesn’t it? We didn’t think that we would be getting so lucky as to see Britton on TV again so soon after she left Nashville, but here we are. Technically, we also did see Krause very recently, as well, given that his previous TV project in The Catch was canceled after just two seasons on the air.
We’ll have more on this show as it gets closer to airing. For the time being, keep your eyes peeled!
