Poldark season 3 episode 5 (PBS) preview: Dwight and Caroline’s future
In order to better set some of this stuff up here at CarterMatt, let’s begin by sharing a few more official details regarding what is coming via the network:
“George is driven to the breaking point, leading him to set a trap for Drake. A gift from Geoffrey Charles proves deadly. Dwight’s relationship with Caroline is threatened.”
For George, the thing that you have to remember is that he doesn’t love it when things go in a way that is different from his own — unfortunately for him, there are a lot of people out there at the moment when don’t want things to go his way and he just better be prepared for that. We’re going to see more of him doing some of what he often does — whine, complain, and get angry over the reactions of those who are around him. Unfortunately, his bite can often be just as bad as his bark.
Despite everything that we’re worried about here when it comes to George and Drake, there’s just as much peril when it comes to Dwight and Caroline. While he may be back following his brutal capture in France, you do have to remember here that what he went through is not the sort of thing people are able to get over altogether easily. It takes time in order for people to recover from that sort of thing, and while Dwight may be a doctor, that doesn’t mean he is capable of caring for himself.
The best thing that Dwight probably does have going for him at the moment is Caroline, someone who understands what it means to be patient. Just remember everything that the two parties have been through in order to be together already if you want another reminder of that. This is something that we’ll probably continue to see a whole lot more of over time if the two stay together — someone out there has firmly determined that life for them is not meant to be easy!
Expect some big revelations in this episode as we’re getting firmly into the home stretch of the season. In terms of weeks on the air we’re halfway to the end of season 3 on PBS, and there are many more big events to keep your eyes peeled for. Keep watching!
