Bull season 2 episode 5 spoilers: Meet Marissa’s boyfriend!

On this past episode of Bull season 2, we had a chance to hear about Marissa’s boyfriend for the first time. He is a character who does alter her perspective on life in some ways. For most of her career with Bull she’s been the woman who has been willing to stop almost anything in order to lend him a helping hand. She’s been a confidante, a source of valuable information, and also a complete workaholic.

With this new man in her life, however, we’re starting to get a sense that things are changing. She has more time to spend with someone outside of the job, which means in turn less time to spend with Bull. Of course we want to think that Jason is going to be able to adjust, but we’re well aware at the same time that this is not something that may actually be in the cards for him. There could be tension between the two once we reach a breaking point when she’s not around or he needs someone to rely on. We even saw this to a certain extent at the end of this past episode.

“Play The Hand You’re Dealt” – Bull navigates the unfamiliar rules of a Native American tribal court when his college roommate is accused of committing murder on his reservation. Also, Bull meets Marissa’s new boyfriend, Kyle (Gary Wilmes), on BULL, Tuesday, Oct. 24 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Beyond just getting to meet Kyle, we are very much curious of how the show will represent Native American tribal court — in general, issues within tribal communities are vastly under-represented across American television. Longmire is probably the show that does this the best and, unfortunately, it’s also the show that is ending a little bit later this year. Hopefully this show picks up the torch in terms of telling a great story that represents the Native American court system, and with that, allows us to see more on other shows in the future.
