Blindspot season 3 promo all about Jane, Weller, and glowing tattoos
Will the show succeed there? This is one of many mysteries that are out there at the moment, with one of the other ones being the glowing tattoos that are now all over Jane’s body. Just when you thought that the show wouldn’t find a way to get any more out there when it comes to its central twist, Jane now bears a striking resemblance to a Unicorn Frappuccino with that color scheme.
So what will the tattoos mean? Consider that one mystery, though most evidence does at present suggest that Roman could have some sort of role to play here. Luke Mitchell is back and early indications are that he will be in turn the season 3 Big Bad. That’s hard news to swallow, mostly because of the close relationship that the two parties previously shared. It’s one thing to have an adversary who is a relative stranger; it’s another thing altogether when it’s someone you once counted on.
Beyond just the glowing tattoos, the new promo does also reference one of the other central twists at the heart of the show now: Jane and Weller’s marital status. The two parties are now together in a legal sense, and while they are probably still going to go through some drama via her going away at the end of season 2, we do hope that this shores up some of the will-they-or-won’t-they of it all. It makes some sense that the two be able to move forward in some capacity as an actual romantic couple and tackle missions together with that relationship secured. It gives the show some new dimensions given that we’ve already come to know the two of them very well apart. It also makes some sense now to see what they are like together, especially in a domestic sense. (Is there such a thing as a domestic life for these two characters? There could be good comedic fodder with this.)
The only other question we at CarterMatt can foresee some people out there asking is rather simple: Why is NBC waiting until October 27 to premiere the show? Given that the rest of their programming is already out there it’s a fair question. The answer is actually a little more simple than you’d think, and it traces back to the network’s history of Friday programming. They don’t like to put anything on the air so early that it gets swallowed up by people going out on Fridays. They use the first few weeks to promote their other shows on the air and then start up programming when the weather cools down a little bit. The one positive that comes with this is that there will be less in the way of repeats during the season.
