Arrow season 6 spoilers: Prometheus returning (but not via Josh Segarra)

Prometheus returning

There is some good and bad news for Prometheus and Arrow season 6 — with the bad news being for Josh Segarra fans.

According to a new report coming in right now via Entertainment Weekly, Prometheus is back for the upcoming Crisis on Earth-X four-part crossover event, one that basically revolves around the heroes facing off against alternate versions of themselves that have turned evil (or were always evil). This alternate earth is one in which the Nazis won World War II in the comics, so there should be some interesting stuff that comes out of this story. The actors are absolutely going to have some cool material here — though Grant Gustin has basically already played Evil Barry Allen in the form of Savitar.

The Prometheus character you’re going to see here is actually Prometheus-X, so it’ll be interesting to learn a little more about who is under this particular hood. We just know that it won’t be Segarra, which is terrible in that he’s one of the best actors we’ve come to love in the entire DC Comics superhero universe on The CW. It would’ve been great to see the character and get to know him better, but the reality here is that this is a guy who is really going out on top. “Liam Yu” is one of the most popular episodes in the show’s history, and there is something interesting to be said for Adrian Chase dying in that episode and never turning up again — or at least not turning up for a while. He gets to leave as one of the greatest villains in the history of the CW canon, and there is never that fear that the show brings him back and the entire Prometheus brand is diluted.

Ultimately, we’re okay with seeing an alternate version of the character just because we’ve seen many an alternate version of a lot of these characters already on the show. Above all else, we’re just glad that we have a more interesting group of villains this time around than the Dominators, who really didn’t bring that much to the table beyond being freaky-looking aliens the last time we saw them. We like our adversaries to be a little bit more complex. Hopefully, evil versions of many of our established heroes will do the trick in that capacity.

What do you think about Prometheus returning?

Do you wish that it was Josh Segarra, or do you think in some ways that it’s better the show is keeping that villain in their back pocket for at some point down the road? Be sure to share in the attached comments!
