Lucifer season 3 episode 2 spoilers: The Sinnerman search

who is the Sinnerman

Moving into Lucifer season 3 episode 2, we’re going to see a major mystery still remain: Who is the Sinnerman? What we know about this character is that they are responsible for kidnapping Lucifer at the end of season 2, and they will have a key role in the upcoming mythology.

However, finding them and uncovering the truth about who they are, let alone what they want, may not be an easy task. You can get a better sense of that just in reading the synopsis below for this upcoming episode:

“After Lucifer removes his wings yet again, Linda becomes concerned that he is too focused on tracking down the Sinnerman and neglecting his own well-being. Tensions continue to rise between Lucifer and Chloe, but they realize they must put their differences aside to solve a case in which Lucifer takes a sudden interest. Once Detective Pierce’s past is revealed though, everyone realizes that the Sinnerman is much more dangerous than they thought in the all-new “The One With The Baby Carrot” episode of LUCIFER airing Monday, Oct. 9 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (L-302)”

Of course, the episode title here makes us think of an episode of Friends, though we have a hard time imagining Lucifer, Chloe, Linda, and Marcus Pierce all sitting down to get a cup of coffee in the near future. This episode should offer up more some opportunities to understand who Lucifer is doing after sprouting wings and the state of his relationship with Chloe, but it could also lead to a few other important discussion points about how he handles obsession.

For the time being, what we know is this: The Sinnerman is someone who clearly has it out for Lucifer in some way — either he wants to hurt him, he wants to use him, or he just wants to torment him. Maybe it’s not even a he and the name is meant to throw you off. The point here is that this could be the Big Bad of the third season, at least in the sense of how they end up corrupting the title character’s mind and causing more trouble there. If the Sinnerman doesn’t do that, then a possible relationship between Marcus and Chloe could do the trick. We’ve certainly also heard over time that this could be one of the other major storylines coming up.

Who do you want the Sinnerman to be on Lucifer?

Do you think it is someone we know, or someone else who we haven’t had a chance to meet yet? We know it’s too early for theories, but we sure to share some of your thoughts in the comments below!
