Could Kristina Schulman be The Bachelorette? She’d consider 2018 gig

Could Kristina Schulman be The Bachelorette

Could Kristina Schulman be The Bachelorette after everything that she went through on Bachelor in Paradise 4 with Dean Unglert? Even though the new star of the show won’t be announced until next spring most likely, we at CarterMatt are not ruling this out! We’re also not going to wait on speculating over the subject.

Following this past season of Paradise, we absolutely do think that Kristina is the favorite. Heck, there were some people who just wanted to bypass Arie Luyendyk Jr. as The Bachelor just so Kristina could find love. She’s incredibly popular through two seasons, and she’s also relatable due to her past heartbreaks — there aren’t a lot of people in this franchise who have been through what she has on two different occasions and are still as popular as they once were.

The first thing that is worth trying to figure out here is whether or not Kristina would be even interested in taking on the gig in the first place, given that if she’s not there’s really no point of wondering this and we’re all more or less wasting our time. Well, the good news is that she might be … but there’s no guarantee. In an exclusive clip (via People Magazine) of her podcast with former Bachelor Nation stars Ben Higgins and Ashley Iaconetti, she makes it clear that under the right circumstances she could come back:

“If asked to be the next Bachelorette, I would have to probably consider when the time comes to it because again, watching Bachelor in Paradise, it was a lot of emotion. It’s hard to see yourself that emotional. When the opportunity presents itself, if it does, I’ll consider it then. But for now, I have to kind of learn from Bachelor in Paradise and move on from that.”

If Kristina is single and if producers want her, we do think that this gig will happen. Why would it not? The only other solution that we see her is production finding someone else who they are absolutely crazy about on Arie’s season who has recency bias on their side. What Kristina will continue to have going for her, though, are these heartbreaks in Paradise and on Nick Viall’s season, and she’s got a story that is so unique and different from any other former contestant. You obviously don’t want to exploit someone’s story for the sake of entertainment, but there is no denying that it does help Kristina to stand out amidst the field of possible contenders.

Odds are, this is a subject to revisit down the road, but we certainly look forward to having some additional discussions on the subject + other contenders.
