The 100 season 5 spoilers: William Miller to play new Big Bad
According to a new report from TVLine, you re going to see the Spanish actor stop by on the hit CW show on a recurring basis, and he’s playing a man in Robert McCreary who should have almost everyone shaking in their boots. His name is Robert McCreary, and the official character description (via the aforementioned site) calls him the following:
“[McCreary is] a mysterious prisoner aboard the long-distance mining mission sent from our time. A former enforcer from a powerful crime syndicate, his ruthless, violent methods make him a formidable antagonist to our heroes.”
Intimidated yet? You probably should be. This is a guy who was already terrible even before the events of the pilot, so with that we imagine that everything sense has only allowed that darkness in his heart to expand. He’s the sort of guy who will do whatever he wants in order to ensure that he gets the job done, and given that The 100 is a show that does often like to kill people, that’s probably not great news for any of our heroes.
As for how this role came about for Miller, showrunner Jason Rothenberg points out that he and fellow executive producer Dean White “fell in love with William [on Searchers] and are thrilled to be working with him again on The 100.” For those wondering, Searchers was a pilot from Rothenberg that wasn’t ordered to series at the network, which opened up Miller to take a role on this show. This is a practice that does happen fairly often; you get to know someone well because of one project, and even if that project doesn’t pan out, you may still have a great opportunity to use them down the line.
What is going to be so interesting about William Miller himself here is that he has been performing for a solid fifteen years in television, but all of it is overseas in a different language. He’s got a style and a craft that many Americans haven’t been exposed to just yet, and there’s an eagerness to seeing what sort of flair he will bring to this role.
When will The 100 season 5 come on the air?
Think midseason, most likely either January or February. Given the time jump, expect a show that’s going to be very different in a lot of different ways. We know that Clarke will have changed after so many years separated from some of the other familiar faces, and we know that there’s a literal change for one of the characters around her. As previously reported, a new actress has been cast in the role of Madi. These two will have a relationship that is very mother/daughter in many ways, and we think that in turn, this could further home some of Clarke’s own leadership skills … ones that were certainly on the rise even more the events of the season 4 finale.
