Shadowhunters season 3 spoilers: A few isolated teases
First of all, let’s comment on the idea that there (should) be some casting news coming up soon. In a post on Twitter, executive producer Todd Slavkin confirmed that the series is in the process of finding the right person to play Jordan, a character who does have close ties to Maia in the source material. Given the plans that we are going to be seeing a whole lot more Maia in season 3, we do think that it makes sense that this would be where the character is introduced.
As for one of the other major characters coming on board Shadowhunters season 3, we are starting to hear rumors already regarding the character of Lilith. Unfortunately, there isn’t all that much in the way of confirmation one way or another about it right now. Hopefully, this is something that Freeform will announce formally in the weeks to come, given that the last thing that the network would want is for someone to get the jump on them based on set photos as opposed to them making the announcement outright.
Remember that filming is going to be taking place throughout the coming months, and there is a great deal of work that will be done in Toronto (a city that we lived in for a good many years and love dearly). This is a show with a pretty-hefty episode order, especially when you consider some of the action and the special effects that are wedged in there along the way.
On a different note, let’s share a few more Shadowhunters season 3 spoilers related to relationships. For example, could we see something happen between Luke and Maryse in the new season? This is something that Slavkin is open to exploring, and he also comments that there could be moments of Jace and Clary trying to have a normal relationship. We knew that we were moving towards these two having something a little bit more grounded in the new season, and this comment from Slavkin also makes us think that this is coming.
The one thing that we would add in here about these relationships is this: Even if things do start off in a rather-peaceful fashion with these characters, that doesn’t mean that they are going to stay that way forever. This is a show were the littlest thing can create a domino effect, and that leads to everyone being forced to endure some nonsense for a rather long stretch of time.
When will Shadowhunters season 3 premiere?
Right now, January is the only thing that we’re comfortable saying, but all signs point to the show probably starting back within the first couple of weeks of the new year. This is what Freeform has done in the past, so why would they change things up now?
