Ballers season 3 episode 8 spoilers: The road ahead in ‘Alley-Oops’

Ballers season 3 episode 8

Ballers season 3 episode 8 is entitled “Alley-Oops,” and we certainly think that is a reference to more than just sports. Given that this is a show about football, it’s probably more a reference to someone who is making some sort of series of unfortunate mistakes. This episode will find Spencer Strasmore in a little bit of an unexpected place, but he is not the only one. Charles is going to find himself in a spot where he has to think more about his future, while Joe also has to find a way to be the bearer of bad news. there’s a possibility of a lot of change coming up, and that’s not altogether a great thing given that there are only a few more episodes coming up this season.

If you look below, we do think that the HBO synopsis is fairly effective at giving you a sense of what sort of story lies ahead.

Ballers season 3 episode 8 synopsis – “Spencer (Dwayne Johnson) gets unexpected info that leads him to reassess his priorities. Joe (Rob Corddry) considers the best way to break bad news to the ASM staff. Marginalized once again by Larry (Dulé Hill), Charles (Omar Benson Miller) decides to take matters into his own hands.”

If you are to just think outside of the world of the show for a moment, there is something else that we personally consider to be very cool about this episode: It’s written by Rashard Mendenhall. He is a former NFL runner back who has been a part of the show in one capacity or another since the beginning. This is the second episode that he has a specific “written by” credit for, and it just helps the show to have so much more credibility to have someone on the team who knows what it’s like to be a part of the league. (We also do think that it shows more the wide array of careers that are out there for players after they decide to retire. The NFL is a dangerous place, and there are so many other venues that you can get into in order to have a healthy, stable future.

Is there anything that you do anticipate seeing on Ballers season 3 episode 8, and do you still like the fact that they’ve got an athlete like Mendenhall working as a part of the show’s team? Be sure to share in the comments below!
