Ray Donovan season 5 episode 5 return date: Sam Winslow’s crisis
We’re not going to roll our eyes too heavily at Showtime since they’ve given us this show; nonetheless, it’s a little bit of an odd choice since we think that there would be Ray Donovan viewers around next week more than happy to check the show out.
Anyhow, if you are interested in getting a few more details when it comes to the show, we recommend that you check out the synopsis!
Ray Donovan season 5 episode 5 synopsis – “Ray’s therapy is at odds with the high-stakes power struggle between Sam and her opponents. Mickey – at Frank’s behest – seeks out an old friend of the Donovan’s. Meanwhile, Terry takes Damon to New York to train for a fight; Bunchy is confronted by sins from the Donovan past; and Bridget tries to reconcile with Smitty – until a major crisis forces them together.”
We can also tell you that this is the episode where you’re going to see Sam Winslow respond more to threats than we’ve seen her to date, and through that you’ll see just how tough and powerful she is. You don’t get an actress of Susan Sarandon’s caliber on your show unless you are giving her an incredibly-meaty role, so we really shouldn’t be all that shocked to see that she’s going to be one of the biggest stars of the season.
Meanwhile, in this episode you should also prepare to be another problem with Natalie James: She’s not on set. While she’s been able to navigate her personal hell so far while still showing up for work, this could be where there start to be some problems for her. If she wants to be able to keep her career going strong, even in spite of all of the hardship, she needs to put on a certain front. This is Hollywood, and people are obsessed with image. This is why someone like Ray Donovan exists in the first place; people need their problems “fixed” so that this said image problem goes away.
Ultimately, there is still plenty of time this season, so it’s certainly possible everything turns around with Natalie.

I thought I was losin’ my mind! I did NOT hear about the one week pause in the saga of RD due to Labor Day. I scrambled all over the place trying to find a place to watch it until finally landing here. Thank you CarterMatt, whoever you are, for setting me straight. You are a scholar and a gentleperson.
