Game of Thrones season 7 episode 5 photos: Cersei’s reaction and more

Some of the first Game of Thrones season 7 episode 5 photos are in leading to Sunday’s episode, and they are all about aftermath. What happened between House Lannister and Daenerys’ Dothraki army was one of the most violent exchanges that we’ve seen so far. While Daenerys may have won, is she really a winner? How much of a victory can she celebrate when you take a moment to consider what she’s gone through and how many she killed?

The significance of the photo above is mostly that it offers you a chance to see Cersei Lannister seemingly recovering from some of the news that she’s heard from the battleground. While it appeared while watching the show that Jaime survived the battle, Cersei may not know that. In the midst of the chaos and the dragons spewing fire on the field, she may have just been told the worst. If Jaime is dead, what does that mean for her? She would have lost yet another person that she cares about, and this would sent her even further down the pit of despair.

In the end, the biggest thing that Westeros can possibly hope for at this point is for her to receive some good news that he is still alive, given that you don’t want her getting into some murderous rage where she just starts to destroy anyone and everyone around her. An unhinged Cersei is not good for either her allies or adversaries. When you have nothing to lose, you’re willing to throw almost anything against the wall in order to see what happens.

For the time being, though, Daenerys may also be in the process of regrouping. After all, one of her most prized assets in Drogon is currently wounded, and she may need to rethink a big part of her battle plan if she wants to move forward. She knows now that there is a way that the opposition can hurt them. Is there anyway that you can put armor on a dragon? Maybe that’s something that she’ll try to figure out, but we’re not all that sure that they’re going to be all that willing to sit there and allow themselves to be measured for it…

This one features Peter Dinklage and Emilia Clarke’s characters, likely surveying the battle that they both were just a part of. They managed to survive it, but how much did they lose? We also figure that there is going to be tension judging from Tyrion not really wanting her to go through with this in the first place. He recognized many of the dangers associated with going into a battle that would cause those you conquered to fear you rather than admire you.
