Big Brother 19 live feed spoilers: Josh vs. Jessica … again (day 49, afternoon)
Actually, we should say that this is not breaking news at all given that this is the same thing that’s transpired a billion times over on the show. This time around, it did get especially ugly, with the two trading insults, her mocking him winning a crapshoot HoH, and talk about his enunciation. Jessica was probably the meaner of the two parties here, but then again Josh was far over the line last week when Jess and Cody were isolating. There isn’t any innocent party here, and really these people are just all super-toxic around each other.
The meanest part of all of this was Cody fat-smashing Josh (even though he’s not fat at all), which led to yet another instance of Josh crying. Elena ended up consoling him! Elena! This is the woman who Josh put on the block and was going to target at one point earlier in the week. This is such a strange game sometimes…
Jessica mentioned this afternoon that she almost wishes the week could be over sooner rather than later, and we figure in some ways that this would be better for all parties involved if it happened … not that it will. Jessica’s not going to quit at this point (she’d lose a ton of money and hurt her favorite status), and the best thing that she can hope for is avoid Josh for the next few days.
Is there any hope for Jess at this point?
It doesn’t look like it. She hasn’t done herself any favors this week, and Elena is doing the right thing: Sitting around and being quiet. Cody himself had a chance to become aligned with some people who could weaponized him, but he’s screwing that, as well, with his behavior. Even Kevin is getting heated about him being there, saying that he shouldn’t be allowed to stay much longer if he’s going to belittle people.
Ultimately, Big Brother 19 is becoming the season of bullying — and we don’t use that word lightly and rarely do. What happened last week with Jess/Cody can be described as that, and certainly what Cody and Jessica did to Josh today was that, as well. Two wrongs don’t make a right in either case. At this point, we almost wish all the super-negative people are gone so that we can get back to fun strategy and in-game silliness. This season started with so much promise! We almost think that Cody coming back was the worst possible thing since Jess was doing much better without him and while the mood around Dominique’s exit was negative, maybe things could’ve turned around if someone like Cameron came back instead.
