Shadowhunters season 2 finale spoilers: News on Jace, Clary, and more

This week, Freeform unveiled some of the first Shadowhunters season 2 finale spoilers, and with that, it’s clear that big stories are ahead! Jace and Clary are going to have to make some big decisions, battle an unsuspecting traitor, and maybe even figure out where the two of them stand in terms of their own relationship. While all of this is going on, you also better prepare to see some chaos with some unexpected foes occupying some other characters’ time. It’ll be crazy, and probably intense here and there.

Given that this is Shadowhunters, the basic way to look at the finale is like this: Did you really think that the writers were going to make life easy on these characters? There’s going to be chaos and possibly death by the end of it. The stakes are almost certainly there to the point that anything could happen.

This final episode of the season (airing next month) is entitled “Beside Still Water.” Take a look at some further information below:

“Jace and Clary rush to make a final stand, but when a traitor is revealed, Jace and Clary may have a bigger fight on their hands than expected. Meanwhile, Alec and Izzy must fight off a large mass of demons that have unexpectedly shown up, as Luke and Simon head to the Seelie Court to deal with some unfinished business with the Seelie Queen.”

Is this going to be the Sarah Hyland iteration of the Seelie Queen who appears? It’s certainly a possibility, but regardless, the thing that does really matter more so than anything else is that we get to see the end of the road when it comes to what’s going on with her and Simon Lewis. The battle started off here earlier this season when she tried to forge a deal with her — following that, she then put the wheels in motion to devastate the relationship that was there between Simon and Clary. We know that the two parties will be meeting up again before the finale (this was confirmed in the Comic-Con sneak peek), and there will be some further drama that unfolds.

No matter what happens, we’re pretty darn clear that the finale is going to set the stage, and in pretty fantastic fashion, for the upcoming third season of Shadowhunters. That was already ordered by Freeform, and odds are the network was able to tell them far enough in advance to set some wheels in motion for excitement the rest of the season.
