Homeland season 7 spoilers: Jake Weber, Linus Roache promoted

Jake Weber

With Homeland season 7 filming gearing up leading up to a premiere in the new year, it’s nice to know of some series-regular promotions. That’s even more exciting when you get a better sense as to who some of these promotions are for.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the following three performers all have the big promotion for the next batch of installments.

Jake Weber – As a huge fan of his work over on Hell on Wheels, this one especially excites us. The actor will be returning to his role as Brett O’Keefe, the bold and brash radio host who holds almost nothing back. He tried his best to undermine President-Elect Keane in season 6, and with her now settling in to the White House, we don’t imagine that changing all that much. We clearly think that there are many of people out there who are fairly similar to Brett O’Keefe, so we anticipate that there will be all sorts of great material for the upcoming story ahead.

Linus Roache – Meanwhile, the former Vikings actor is going to be making a series of appearances in his role as new assistant David Wellington. He has no problem assisting Keane in all matters that he deems important; unfortunately for Carrie Mathison, all signs point to him thinking that keeping her away is one of the many important priorities that he has. This is probably one of the things that will only further push Carrie to make her presence known, given that she is not the sort of person to suffer fools or allow someone to walk all over her in any way.

Maury Sterling – Following what happened this past season, we’re going to have a chance to see a whole lot more in the role of Max on the show. This is great given that it will be nice to see a Carrie ally stick around — following what happened with Quinn (RIP) at the end of this past season, we imagine that there is going to be a serious need for Carrie to get someone people on her side who can really care about her and support her.

As previously reportedHomeland season 7 filming is going to be taking place in Virginia. It’s a new setting for the show, and that is a clear reflection of where the sixth season of the show concluded. Given everything that is happening on American soil right now that is deemed as controversial, it’s not even remotely of a shock to us to see production staying put. Let’s just hope the quality is there after an excellent sixth season of the show.
