Power season 4 ratings rise; how Fear the Walking Dead, Bachelorette fared
This past episode ended up drawing the largest overall viewership of the season, with 1.72 million viewers checking out the latest in the James St. Patrick court case. This is a nice little increase from the week prior, and while it’s down slightly from the third episode of last season, we’re seeing a little bit of consistency here.
There are still two more things to remember here with Power, which we’ve told you a number of times already. First and foremost, the show’s ratings increase significantly when you add in the streams and repeat airings; we anticipate that more than 3 million people as a whole actually watched this episode. We also don’t factor in here 18-49 information given that the demo is not anywhere near as relevant thanks to Starz being all about subscribers more so than it is anything else. They don’t really care so much if their viewers are young or old since they have no advertisers.
As for the other two shows, the demo is very much key.
Good news and bad news for Fear the Walking Dead
Let’s start with some of the news that should put a little bit more of a smile on your face: The midseason finale generated the show’s best numbers this month with over 2.4 million viewers and a 0.9 rating in the demo. The bad news is that there have only been three episodes this month. It’s clear at this point that this show isn’t ever going to be the smash hit the flagship one was, but it is faring well enough for us to feel reasonably satisfied. It does have a fourth-season renewal already, but beyond that, who knows what the future for the show may hold?
At the moment, one of the other big mysteries is simply a matter of when Fear the Walking Dead comes back given that there is no obvious time in the schedule for it to do on Sundays moving forward.
As for The Bachelorette…
Monday night’s new episode tied American Ninja Warrior on Monday with a 1.4 rating, proving further that this season isn’t getting the same sort of numbers that we’ve seen for the past few years. It’s certainly still not a bad number, though, and we’re pretty sure that ABC probably appreciates just how popular the show’s been on social media since the start of the season. (We’ve pretty routinely seen the show trending worldwide in the #1 spot during primetime episodes.)
Here’s a fun fact: Last night a repeat of The Gong Show ended up generating a better overall number in a 0.6 than recent new episodes of Still Star-Crossed before that was pulled and moved to a different part of the schedule.
