Outlander season 3: New Sam Heughan Q&A highlights!
Below, you can see an array of some answers that we can offer some further context on when it comes to everything from the show to some of Sam’s future projects. He recently wrapped up filming season 3 in Scotland / South Africa, and he’s now working on filming his new project in The Spy Who Dumped Me alongside Kate McKinnon of Saturday Night Live and Mila Kunis.
For those who haven’t heard much about that project, you can read more here! It’s a great chance to see Sam step outside of Jamie Fraser into a completely different modern-day character.
Now, let’s get to some of the Q&A highlights.
On the gratitude he feels now, and his initial reaction for being hired to play Jamie – This one goes without saying — playing a life-changing role is something that Sam will be forever grateful for.
I was over joyed and didn't realise what a wonderful adventure it'd be. So so lucky #AskSam https://t.co/utjQCvMc4m

On his work in The Spy Who Dumped Me – It may not have a whole lot in common when it comes to Outlander, but there is one major similarity between the two: Stunts. Sam will be able to put some of his fitness training to good use.
Its an "action comedy!!!" I love stunts…. #AskSam https://t.co/Gxe06eAWlQ

On working with McKinnon – As expected, she’s amazing — but we really didn’t imagine anything otherwise here. (Like with Sam, this is a summer project for her given that filming for Saturday Night Live will resume later this summer, provided that she’s involved in the Weekend Update Thursdays show.)
She's SO cool and funny! What a pro. #AskSam https://t.co/BCe8kuKvm2

On some of the other stuff he’s got coming up… – Isn’t this one cryptic? With success comes opportunities for more success, so he could have many different sort of things coming up.
So many projects, in different fields, exciting but hard to keep up! #AskSam https://t.co/pWs5oG7S9f

On if he’d do Shakespeare again – Clearly, Sam is into the idea, but finding the time to do it may prove difficult given how often Outlander films. He is already spending his offseason this year doing a movie, and it’s fair too early to project what’s coming for his offseason next year.
I have in the past and would love to be back on stage. #AskSam https://t.co/i6ZjEKQ2XY

For the record, Sam did mention that season 4 is starting to film again this fall, which is something that we’ve reported about in the past. Hopefully, that means that season 4 could premiere next fall on Starz … though there are certainly no guarantees there.
Of course, season 3 premieres on Starz this September, and no matter the timing, we definitely do believe that there will be some further information announced on it before too long.
