The Flash season 4 spoilers: Candice Patton on time jump, new struggle
After all, it looks as though there is going to be a rather lengthy time jump between the end of season 3 and the start of season 4. How long? According to TVLine, six months! Not only that, Candice Patton had the following to say on the subject of just what the character is going to be dealing with
“We still don’t have Barry out of the Speed Force … Iris is really struggling to deal with that, and she does it in her own way.”
Does this mean that Iris will be very active at STAR Labs, trying to use their resources to get Barry back by any means necessary. She knows that it won’t be easy, but this is also Iris West! She’s dealt with so much more, whether it be Savitar, Zoom, and finding her place as a character without powers surrounded by people who are. The big issue that she may have here is not even knowing where to start. She’s not a speedster, and with that, she doesn’t have a whole lot of access to the Speed Force. Maybe Wally West could be an asset, but even with him it just feels as though you are repeating the cycle of putting him into the Speed Force and bringing Wally back.
No matter what happens with The Flash, let’s just hope that the show finds a unique way to deal with their problem pertaining to Barry, and one that in turn, the show is able to justify. They’ve written themselves into quite a difficult corner with this story, and now the big challenge is going to be trying to find a way to wiggle themselves out of the predicament.
