Will Veep season 7 be show’s last? Producers still figuring that out
Is the show circling its wagons with that final story arc? We’d argue so, were it not setting up the idea of Selina and Jonah competing against each other. If this somehow ends with the two of them being on the same ticket together, or Selina being Veep somehow to Jonah, it could be one of the most hysterical endings to the show to date. We do think that there could easily be two more seasons of the show, but the ball is very much in the court of HBO, star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and executive producer David Mandel on that one.
What we can give you now is what Mandel had to say on the subject of the show’s potential end, per his recent interview with TVLine:
“We’re starting to think about an end game because, like anything else, we want to go out our way. We’re going to figure it out and hopefully announce something officially.”
Regardless of when Veep does end, the show does have an opportunity to go down as one of the best comedy series ever. That has to put Louis-Dreyfus right up there with Mary Tyler Moore and Boy Newhart as one of the greatest comedy performers of all time. After all, she’s got two hit shows under her belt, and if you count her time on Saturday Night Live, even more than that! Even if the show for whatever reason falls flat (which we doubt it will), it’s still had a tremendous run.
