Arrow season 6: David Ramsey directing episode
So what does he think about it? Be prepared to have a little bit of a laugh. The tweet below from the Heroes & Villains Fan Fest features some grade-A trolling featuring Amell towards David Ramsey as David recounts a story. Given that the fate of so many different characters on the show are currently up in the air, it does make a certain degree of sense for everyone to be a little bit worried for the future of their characters.
Probably the even bigger announcement to come out of the Portland edition of the convention this weekend was the news that Ramsey is going to be directing a season 6 episode, which will mark his directorial debut. This is something that many actors eventually decide to take on when working on a show, but he is the first full-time Arrow cast member to try this out. He’s not the first within the greater CW superhero universe, as Tom Cavanagh took on the role for an episode of The Flash entitled “The Once and Future Flash” from this past season.
As for what Ramsey’s episode is still about, you’ll have to wait and see on that! What’s fair to guess, though, is that this is a role that he’s probably been preparing to take on for a little while now given that it takes a lot of preparation to learn the craft and shadow some of the other directors. Also, you have to develop a shorthand with many of the other crew members. Directing is a lot of added work since there is a pre-production and post-production window that goes with it; there is a reason why most actors such as Jensen Ackles on Supernatural tend to only direct around one episode a season, and it’s often not an episode that features them prominently.
