Big Brother 19 rumors: Is there ANYTHING to 20 houseguests chatter?
Also, it seems rather odd that the origin of this rumor seems to be stemming mostly from what seems to just be miscommunication. A story was recently posted by the International Business Times, one that seems to be suggesting that there are four returning players from Big Brother 18 and then one from Big Brother: Over the Top. There is virtually no sourcing in the article whatsoever, and there’s enough of a dodgy track record here to doubt the legitimacy of the publication. (We’ve seen a number of reports in various iterations of the site before that were linked to either faulty tabloid stories or untrue speculation.)
Ultimately, it really just feels like the site is writing in circles and not being clear as to what it’s actually talking about. The only evidence of there being 20+ houseguests is that there are 20 table settings in some house photos — which means nothing. It just looks pretty. You can argue that 16 is too many houseguests as it is, so the idea of four or five more doesn’t make sense. You’d have to do a ton of double-eliminations and change much of the format of the show, and it’d be too confusing even for live-feeders to follow.
Also, other than the aforementioned report and a house-tour photo there is zero evidence of there being four extra houseguests from last season or someone from BB: OTT. In this social-media age, it’s pretty darn to hide this sort of stuff.
As of right now, the rumor that we do buy into is that there is a 17th houseguest this season, one that you can read more over at this link. This is the sort of thing that makes some sense that the show would try, given that they technically did do this in season 17 when Liz and Julia separated and each became players within the game.
Of course, with all of this said we do wish that there were only 16 players and that’s it. At most, maybe you can argue that there could be four Big Brother 18 players competing for one spot in the house, but there’s no real evidence of that, either. If you want to start spinning your brain with random rumors, you may as well also say that Pablo, the Zingbot, Bridgette’s basil plant Mr. Jenkins, and the ghost of Tim Dormer’s spider from Big Brother Canada are all also coming into the game in some capacity.
If anything changes or there are further reports worth discussing, we’ll let you know. (Photo: CBS.)
