The Night Shift season 4 promo: First look at premiere!
Luckily, hopefully the preview below helps to make things a little bit better in that department! One of the big takeaways from this, though, is that this is designed to appeal more to the casual / new fans than the diehards given that there isn’t all that much said here about what the story is going to be for the premiere. Is that smart? Probably, if NBC is hoping to get new viewers checking out the show who may not have before now. It’s never a bad thing to market a show as inspirational, especially at a point in time where there are many people out there who are desperately looking for said inspiration.
Also, we imagine that NBC knows that the devoted fans will watch anyone, so they’re better off marketing in this instance to people who are maybe interested in checking the show out for the first time.
If you haven’t seen it yet, the attached synopsis does a very good job of giving you most of the details in terms of what you should expect in the story anyway. You don’t need the promo to offer further info:
“Jordan (Jill Flint) and Drew (Brendan Fehr) perform a daring rescue by jumping from a chopper. Landing at the nearest VA hospital, Jordan sparks a plan to appease Julian (James McDaniel) and reunite her night shift team. Back at the hospital, Paul (Robert Bailey Jr.) deals with the repercussions of standing up to his father while Scott (Scott Wolf) dives headlong into his professional life. Kenny (JR Lemon) butts heads with Cain (recurring guest star Mark Consuelos), a traveling nurse with a mysterious past. Shannon (Tanaya Beatty) indoctrinates Cain as they work in San Antonio Memorial’s understaffed and overworked ER. Meanwhile, TC (Eoin Macken) is held captive in Syria. In order to find Syd (recurring guest star Jennifer Beals), TC must treat his captor instead of returning to the safety of an air base with a civilian volunteer, Amira (Rana Roy).”
