The first look at Stichers’ season 4 renewal odds
What’s the problem? One of the biggest ones is the sole fact that the show does air on Freeform, a network that does tend to cancel many shows fairly often. It also has a habit of doing so rather unceremoniously — the last thing that we want to do is remind you of Make It or Break It / Chasing Life, but here we are doing that very thing. This is the sort of thing that is absolutely possible even if we don’t want to admit it.
Here is where some things do stand right now when it comes to the ratings for the second episode of season 3 — Stitchers drew a 0.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic and then also 360,000 viewers. These aren’t huge, powerful numbers by any means, but it’s not as though this is a show with a storied history of getting numbers far stronger than that. This is not far off from many season 2 performances, so if Freeform uses the same logic here that they used for the second season, then odds are the show will come back. If somehow over the course of time they’ve felt their personal expectations raise on some level, then the signs point more towards the show going, alas, the way of the dodo.
There are some other things to consider here, as well, with DVR performance being fairly high on the list of things that could help the show greatly. The same also goes for streaming data. The thing about a show like Stitchers is that with its case-of-the-week format, there may not be as much of a demand for many of its viewers to see it live. They may very well check it out a day or two later when they want to watch some sort of programming while they sit back and relax.
