Pretty Little Liars season 7 spoilers: Did Mona kill Charlotte DiLaurentis?
There are certainly many reasons to think about this theory, with the biggest one being simply the photo above! This features Janel Parrish’s character seemingly within the clock tower, which of course is iconic to where Charlotte was killed. There are some snags in the idea that she is there to kill Charlotte, though, starting with the time of day. Also, why in the world would Freeform release a photo like this when it’s so painfully obvious what in the world is going on here?
The photo below is also giving you the sense that the Liars are all in full interrogation mode on Mona, and once again, that does make total sense when you consider the circumstances that are present here. Just look at Mona’s place! It’s obvious that she knows far more about A.D. and the hunt to stop them than what she’s let on, and she is essential to the endgame of the show. However, we do also feel like her involvement at this point is just as much an homage to the original reveal as it is anything related to her role this time around. The most likely theory is that Mona is the ultimate red herring. With all of the hype surrounding the show and its ending, to have it be Mona all along just feels a little too predictable. You do want the reveal to make a certain degree of sense, but to have it be Mona is just too on the nose and too obvious.
Luckily, at least this isn’t a time where the mystery is going to weigh on all of us too much longer! Come Tuesday, you’ll know who killed Charlotte; beyond that, the big A.D. reveal is coming at the latest during the series finale a week from Thursday. Prepare for a heck of a lot of great content coming over the next couple of weeks; there will certainly be some further discussion to go along with it.
