Blindspot season 3 spoilers: What’s coming next for Jane and Roman?

What’s coming when it comes to Jane and Roman on Blindspot season 3? It’s a worthy question, and one that the powers that be are looking to answer.

The biggest thing that you have to realize is that Roman is hurt, and he has a reason to be after he feels abandoned by one of the people he was truly close to. Is he the only person Jane left behind? Absolutely not, since the end of the season firmly indicates that she also left Weller behind right when they were in the midst of a serious relationship. She’s got a lot of work to do, and watching all of that unfold may be one of the biggest highlights of the story coming up.

On speaking further on this subject to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Martin Gero passed along the following message:

“It ended pretty badly between Jane and Roman … There is no love lost. He feels very betrayed that she has essentially left him for the second time, choose someone else, so he’s pretty angry. But I think their relationship next year is super fascinating — and it’s been one of the highlights for me for season 2. We’ve found a really, really interesting way to keep that going.”

Let’s hope that the relationship does exist within some sort of interesting gray area, given that a big part of what makes a show like Blindspot so interesting is that it can play in some sort of ambiguous territory where characters can turn good or evil. With someone like Roman who’s been through as much as he has, he’s going to have moments where he questions his life and his purpose in it. That’s only understandable at this point.

Moving further into the season, one of the big questions is merely going to be one of trying to determine whether or not Jane comes back and is similar to her old self at all. The ball is in her court when it comes to turning relationships around, and this will help to shape her future in so many ways.
