See Game of Thrones star Kit Harington in wonderfully awkward James Corden video
Basically, the conversation on Corden’s show (taped in London this week) started with Nicole Kidman talking about her own life with Keith Urban. Somehow, it ended with Kidman asking Harington about proposing to his girlfriend and former co-star Rose Leslie after he talked about living with her. Harington and Leslie have been together off and on for some time, and their schedules are certainly busy — Game of Thrones films in Northern Ireland, while her new show The Good Fight is filmed in New York City (even though it actually takes place in Chicago).
What’s very funny beyond just Kidman putting Harington on the spot when it comes to this is Corden’s apparent obsession with the way that the actor says “darling.” The entire clip should make you laugh, and it’s probably one of the biggest reasons why Corden’s format is one of the best for any late-night talk show out there. There is just something fun about the chaos that comes courtesy of getting everyone on a single couch together and have them riffing and talking about all sorts of various ideas. It’s not something that you get on other shows where the interviews are significantly more structured.
Game of Thrones season 7 will premiere on HBO come Sunday, July 16. Obviously, there’s going to be so much more in the way of promotion around it as we get closer and closer to the story coming on the air. For Harington in particular, Jon Snow will be dealing with far more important issues than Harington is right now in his personal life — after all, he will have to contend with threats from Cersei to the South, and then also the ever-expanding presence of the White Walkers to the North as they attempt to get more and more of a foothold on things.
