Absentia spoilers: All about Patrick Heusinger’s Nick Durand
The photo above is the fourth official one from the Sony AXN series (now officially coming to Showcase in Canada this fall), and it is the first one featuring Heusinger front and center. His character is an FBI agent who was with Emily prior to her disappearance. Her searched for, but over time she was presumed dead. As a result of that, he and his son moved forward, and they were able to start a new life with Alice (Cara Theobold). She is a woman who seems to have brought him happiness, but one of the big mysteries there is whether or not she can be trusted. (For now, we’re assuming so, but we’ve certainly heard plenty of theories to the contrary already!)
For now, the fair assumption is that Nick’s passion to solve Emily’s case will be reignited upon finding her. Unfortunately, she won’t be able to share much in the way of evidence.
Beyond just playing Nick, Patrick seems to have enjoyed much of his time on the show. Take, for example, the Twitter video below where on his birthday, he was thrown into a pool by the crew. (This pool has been featured in a number of behind-the-scenes photos, albeit in different lighting.)
The second video comes via Heusinger himself, who shows just what it was like for him upon first arrived to Bulgaria (where the series filmed) this past winter. Given that he is originally from Jacksonville, Florida, it’s pretty fair to say that this had to be night and day for him! After seeing that, you have to be pretty glad that the crew threw him in an indoor pool.
It should prove fun to get to know more about both Nick and Patrick over the course of the next several months; hopefully, in the midst of that there are some more networks and premiere times announced for Absentia all over the world.
What do you think about this new Absentia photo, and what do you expect to see from the Nick Durand character? Let us know in the comments!
Meanwhile, head over here to score some additional news now when it comes to the show. (Photo: Sony.)

Every other article I’ve seen about Absentia has referred to a son for Nick and Emily. Is there a daughter, too? Are there any rumors about a USA network picking up the series?
