Pretty Little Liars season 7: Are Hanna and Caleb engaged?
The video below tells you everything that you need to know when it comes to a Pretty Little Liars engagement. Hanna and Caleb revisited a very familiar place to the two of them, and that in itself should be considered a rather fantastic reward for those of you who did start watching the show all the way back in the first season. Remember that? These characters were in such a different and more innocent place then, and they didn’t quite understand the magnitude of who “A” was or what they were capable of doing.
This time around, there was certainly a sense of maturity about the two of them heading out to the familiar spot, but through all of that there was also still a little bit of a youthful energy and a passion that was exciting to see. This was almost as if they were able to compartmentalize everything for just one moment, and be able to actually stop in and enjoy celebrating each other – which is hard to do in the Pretty Little Liars universe where everything is layered with lies and mystery.
Was it a surprise? Hardly. Given that it was revealed in advance that Ashley was going to be stopping by in this episode, it wasn’t all that hard to figure out that there was probably a moment coming for the two of them.
As for whether or not you want to call this an engagement or a “marriage,” that’s up to you. It’s hardly binding, though, given that there weren’t any witnesses present and there was no signing of a license. That being said, you don’t need a marriage license to be committed to someone for the rest of your lives – lots of people share vows with each other and never sign that paper. Doesn’t make it any less real.
For now, the important thing is that these characters are making a firm commitment to each other. The finale is coming up in a few weeks, but this brings us some closure for these characters. You don’t want to cram TOO much of it in the final episode, since otherwise that will make the story feel incredibly rushed and after so many seasons of the show, we want a well thought out conclusion.
