Is Veep new tonight on HBO? On season 6 episode 8’s status
However, what they are not bringing you in turn is a new episode of the Julia Louis-Dreyfus series, with the biggest reason for that seemingly being a matter of the fact that the show would’ve premiered at a strange time and gone past primetime. As a result of this, both it and Silicon Valley are now at the same exact place in the schedule, with there being three episodes of each one of them coming back starting next week.
These episodes should allow for a chance to tie together some of the loose ends for the season to date, including Dan Egan at CBS This Morning, Selina’s Presidential library, and everyone trying to piece together some of what her legacy should be. There isn’t all that much known about this upcoming episode just yet beyond the fact that the name of it is “Judge,” and there was a short preview that aired at the end of this past episode. You can see that preview below, as the biggest thing that it should remind you of is just how terrible Jonah Ryan is at being a Congressman. Meanwhile, Mike apparently loves the convenience of reading news online and not having to pay for a newspaper; in other words, he doesn’t want the industry to survive.
The biggest thing to praise in regards to Veep season 6 is that somehow, the writers have found a way to allow the show to continue to provide stories that are relevant without Selina having much of any power. In some ways, maybe this actually suits the show better than her being Vice-President or President, given that she was always treated by many other characters in politics as a bit of a joke. This is her now fully embracing being an underdog. Maybe she will find a way to rise to the occasion, or sink even further into obscurity. Time will tell there.
