Nashville season 5 spoilers: Rachel Bilson, Kaitlin Doubleday talk characters
In the videos below, the two actress describe further some of what makes their characters special, and a little bit more in terms of what you can expect from the two of them.
Bilson as Alyssa Greene – The former Hart of Dixie star is playing a role that is very different than any of the other ones that she’s taking on. She’s someone who works for the record label, and she realizes that she’s not going to get along with a number of the artists on the label. After all, a big part of her job is telling these people that they are going to have to do things that they don’t want to do in order to help their careers. Not everyone is going to be altogether keen on listening to what she has to offer.
In time, though, maybe they’ll realize how much of an asset Alyssa can be, and if everyone works together, there may actually be a way to further move the needle.
Doubleday as Jessie Caine – Meanwhile, this is a great opportunity for the Empire actress to do something very different in her own right. Jessie is a character who is far more tied into the world of country music than Alyssa is, and with that, she may be a little bit more sympathetic to some of the other characters.
Jessie is a character who should be a breath of fresh air on the show. After all, she’s looking for redemption and another chance after seeing much of her life fell apart as a part of a bitter divorce that caused her to lost custody of her son. She’s going to be in recovery, and the good news is that she and Deacon have a history that allows the two of them to be fast friends once more and rely on each other somewhat in the midst of all the stuff that they are going through.
