Shadowhunters season 2B spoilers: Clary, Jace, Simon, and a choice

Shadowhunters season 2B is now only a week away! It’s been a long wait, but the story is almost back — and with that, Clary’s choice is near. There is Simon on one side, and then Jace on the other. As many love triangles go, this one is also going to be complicated … and it will only become more so when she becomes privy to all of the pertinent information.

If you remember, the midseason finale dropped the big reveal from Valentine that Jace is not his son. With that, Jace and Clary are not related, and this means effectively that the two parties could end up being together. It’s going to give Clary a whole lot more to think about, and you can see the wheels spinning for the character in the new preview below (via Entertainment Weekly). She’s thinking about what this could mean (the news about Jace is going to be passed along to her sooner rather than later), but there is still also Simon to think about.

Given that the preview features her proclaiming “I want to be with you,” it’s fair to assume that Clary will be making a choice between the two men sooner rather than later. As for if that said choice sticks … that still remains to be seen. Just remember that on The Vampire Diaries we spent seasons watching Elena juggle different choices before eventually settling on Damon as the vampire she wanted to be with.

Of course, this is a show about SO much more than romance, but this is a key part of it. These characters are still young, and in the process of saving the world and dealing with various traumas, they have to have something to cling to.

For those of you not so into the romantic angle of the show, just remember that there’s something else rather big worth looking forward to in the coming episodes, and it very much has to do with the arrival of Sebastian to the universe. He’s not going to waste much time making his presence felt.
