The Durrells season 3: Premiere date hopes for ITV series
There was no clear reason to cancel The Durrells, largely when this is a series that is experiencing a great deal of success for ITV. While it may not be a hit on the level of a Broadchurch in terms of international appeal or a Victoria in terms of ratings, it continues to have a solid presence on the network and delivers some fascinating drama. Plus, having a series set in Corfu does bring a certain degree of geographic variance to the show. It gives you more to dive into and enjoy beyond just the typical British fare. It’s a different way of life, which makes things both fun and more challenging when you consider the wide array of animals that the show has to work with.
As for when season 3 is filming, the simplest answer to give you there is that work’s already being done on the show! This is one of the reasons why there was an early renewal, since there wasn’t a whole lot of time to wait around. There’s something about filming at this time of year that may be appealing, and we figure a good part of that may just be the excitement that comes with filming a series in the Greek Isles during the spring / summer. It’s the sort of thing that ANYONE could want.
Maybe if you do have a certain understanding of the books, there may be a good idea of what is coming on The Durrells season 3 … to an extent. This is not a strict adaptation, so there is some room for creative flexibility.

I absolutely love the Durrells! It never ceases to surprise and entertain. Each character is fun as they evolve. Thank you for renewing it for season three. I watch on PBS El Paso, Texas.
