NBC 2017 fall preview: See The Brave, Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders trailers

Earlier today, NBC released their fall schedule for 2017; now, you can check out trailers for The Brave and Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murder. These are the only new series coming on the air this fall; technically, the Will & Grace revival is returning, so there’s no real need to spotlight it further here. These other two shows more have something to prove.

In addition to the trailers, there are a few other details that are worthy of checking out as you start to circle which shows you’re looking to watch when September rolls around.

The Brave

Logline – “A look into the complex world of our bravest military heroes. While DIA Deputy Director Patricia Campbell and her team of analysts wield the world’s most advanced surveillance technology from Washington, D.C., Adam Dalton and his heroic Special Ops squad of highly trained undercover specialists use their unbreakable bond and commitment to freedom to save lives of innocent people and execute missions in some of the most dangerous places in the world.”

The cast is led by Mike Vogel of Under the Dome and Anne Heche, and it could be interesting. Also worth noting is that this is formerly known as For God & Country, and the presumption here is that this was changed out of fear the religious connotation would scare viewers.

This may be a strong, compelling military drama, but the trailer gives away a good chunk of the pilot and whether or not there is a thirst for military drama remains to be seen.

Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders

Logline – “Focuses on Lyle and Erik Menendez, brothers who killed their parents in 1989, claiming they had suffered a lifetime of abuse from them. After a mistrial and deadlocked juries — there was one trial but two separate juries, one for each brother — the young men later were re-tried and convicted of two counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to life without parole.”

Edie Falco of Nurse Jackie stars in the first edition of what could be an ongoing series similar to American Crime Story. The trailer is more of a teaser in that it barely gives anything away, but this is all sorts of haunting and could get true-crime fans intrigued. Given it airing after This Is Us on Thursdays this fall, there is serious potential here for big ratings.
