Fear the Walking Dead season 3 spoilers: First details; need for a villain

Fear the Walking Dead season 3 spoilers

Next month, Fear the Walking Dead season 3 will finally be upon us on AMC, but you don’t have to wait that long for some scoop!

Leading up to the show’s big return, we can offer you the tiniest of teases on the premiere episode. Even if it doesn’t give away all that much it’s better then nothing, right? Take a look, per SpoilerTV, at what we will be seeing in the first episode of the new season:

“The Clark family find themselves in a dire predicament. They must work together to discover a path to safety.”

We already got a sense of what that predicament for the family could be courtesy of the hotel and the divisions that we saw in the final episodes of season 2. Another predicament, meanwhile, is that not everyone is really together in the way that they’d like to be. This is a show where many characters are still experiencing divisions and cracks, and we’re not even talking about physical ones. What is the level of trust going to be, for example, with Nick and everyone else if they get back together? How are they going to move forward?

Beyond what happens with the Clark family, the one thing that we do think that Fear the Walking Dead really needs at this point in its run is both a clear setting and a clear-cut villain. Similar to the first seasons of the show proper, the characters here have been a little bit nomadic. They haven’t had a major threat rise at this point and the walkers in both shows are not much of a threat and are now merely a nuisance for the most part.

This is around when The Governor started to make his presence known in The Walking Dead proper, so this is where we should get someone of equal power and influence. This would get the show so much more buzz and attention than it’s getting right now. Also, it’d unify many of its supporting characters in a way that we haven’t seen to date. The closest thing that we’ve had to villains are the toolboxes who got rid of Chris. Maybe you can also say that Lucia is one, but neither party lasted long enough.
