The Catch season 2 finale spoilers: ‘The Mockingbird’ sings betrayal

Even without knowing too much else when it comes to the upcoming The Catch season 2 finale, you have to love the episode’s title of “The Mockingbird.” This is the sort of title that can be a reference to so many things — maybe you can think of a bird singing (which is pleasant), flat-out mockery (certainly possible given this show), and you can probably stretch it to relate to the practice of singing like a canary — basically ratting out people who are close to you. (Why do we connect so many animal metaphors to betrayals? It’s a fairly interesting question at this point.)

Anyhow, we now present you with some of the first news now related to what is coming in this episode — ABC isn’t giving away too much, but this is a pretty tantalizing tease! Pro tip: You’re probably going to want to watch this episode live, provided that you want answers and don’t want anyone to spoil anything for you.

The Catch season 2 finale synopsis – “While Alice and Ben are forced to face their pasts, a shocking betrayal could change everything.”

By the end of this episode, we imagine that there’s going to be some resolution, but we’re also hard-pressed to think that you will be getting all of the answers at all. Just remember that this is ABC and this is Shondaland. Resolution really isn’t their thing unless they know in advance that they are working on a series finale.

It’s certainly possible that by the time the finale airs, you’ve got a little more information one way or another as to whether or not the show is coming back for a third season. We’re in that little window of time leading up to upfronts where major networks start to announce the future fates of many shows, so this is something that you really should be aware of and potentially nervous about. We really think that The Catch could go either way at the moment — while its ratings aren’t tremendous, do you really want to say “no” to a show that you can attach the #TGIT label to?
