Ratings: State of Once Upon a Time, Chicago Justice, Elementary
Once Upon a Time – We begin with the ABC fairy-tale series, which was on the upswing for the second straight week leading up to the musical episode. The show effectively generated a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which is an improvement from the previous weeks. This is a show that seems to be ending on a higher note, which helps to further cement our confidence at the moment that there will be more of the show once we get to the fall. It will be a different show without various cast members involved, but a show nonetheless.
Chicago Justice – Meanwhile, the lowest-rated edition of the One Chicago franchise held firm last night to a 1.0 rating — while this isn’t incredible, we do think that it’s enough to get it renewed, especially since it’s out-performing the already-renewed Shades of Blue and it’s the perfect fill-in for the spring after the NFL season ends. This over time has been a very difficult timeslot for NBC to fill because the schedule is in so much flux over the course of time.
Elementary – Well, the news here isn’t nearly as good as the Jonny Lee Miller show fell to a 0.5 rating. Oddly, this show isn’t necessarily dead still, given that it remains a big syndication player and features two actors with followings all over the world. We’re in an era where live+same day ratings matter, but not as much as they used to when there weren’t so many other ways to watch a show. CBS will look at all of the different variables.
Within the next couple of weeks, we do expect that we will start to have some further information regarding all of these shows and whether or not they are coming back. Upfronts are coming soon, and we are absolutely into crunch time with a wide array of different shows.

Elementary is one of the best written and acted shows on TV. Here’s my vote to keep it on the air with new episodes in the Fall.
