Riverdale season 2 Mark Consuelos casting comes with a catch
According to a report from TVLine, you’re going to be seeing the actor aboard the CW series as a little bit of a conditional regular thanks in part to the Fox baseball drama, which remains in first position and is very much on the bubble. If Pitch is renewed, Consuelos will continue to be a part of that show, which certainly isn’t a bad thing given that this is one of the best network shows out there. If it doesn’t return, he will get a chance to be a part of Riverdale full time.
So what role are we going to see him play? Well, it’s an important one: Veronica’s father! Per the website and The CW, the character is “a ruthless, handsome, charismatic businessman who is coming back to Riverdale after weathering a financial scandal that almost destroyed him. He is there to reconnect with his wife Hermione and, especially, his daughter Veronica, who is the apple of his eye.” Having him around should add some more great layers to the show, and we’re excited about that given that the adults are actually one of the best parts about Riverdale as a series — which isn’t something that we’d really say about many other shows out there that mostly focus on a younger cast.
As for when Riverdale season 2 will premiere, that is a question that is still floating around in the air. The only thing that is assured at the moment is that there will be a second season for the show, judging from the announcement that came from the network a little bit earlier on in the year. This is a show that did some really fun, creative things this time around, and we definitely love the fact that they are thinking far ahead into the future. In the long run, this is easily going to help them out.
For those wondering, Riverdale is going to be back on the air following a brief hiatus a little bit later this week. In the event that you do want some more news on what to expect, head over here!
Also, if you missed it, Consuelos is also going to be appearing on The Night Shift in a recurring role this summer. This will not impact the show’s future at all. (Photo: The CW.)
