Call the Midwife season 6 episode 5 spoilers (PBS): About Valerie Dyer

Moving into Call the Midwife season 6 episode 5 on PBS next week, you will see a different sort of story than usual. A part of that is because you also have a new person to focus on! Valerie Dyer is one of the new faces joining the world of the series, and she is going to be someone who brings a different energy. She’s geographically different and has been on a different career path, but you will find that she does have the same heart and relatable qualities as the likes of Trixie and Barbara.

Next week, you’ll get a chance to learn a little bit more about her, while at the same time taking on some more of the signature cases that this series is at this point known for.

Call the Midwife season 6 episode 5 synopsis – “Nonnatus House welcomes a new recruit, Nurse Valerie Dyer. A vulnerable young man captures the hearts of Fred and Violet, while the whereabouts of Sister Mary Cynthia causes distress among the team.”

For those of you who are Fred and Violet fans, rest assured that this is going to be one of those stories that is firmly up your alley. You will learn more about them and what makes the two of them a good couple, and you’ll see a signature guest star or two along the way.

We don’t want to say TOO much about this episode out of fear of spoiling anything, but the Sister Mary Cynthia storyline probably will make many of you out there emotional, just as you would probably expect given what sort of show Call the Midwife is. Meanwhile, this is also going to offer up an opportunity to see an exciting new story for Trixie that will allow her to move forward in life. This is one that will build over the course of many of the final episodes this season, so of course we’re curious to see that the reaction to it from American viewers will be.
