Is Ransom new tonight? First look at finale episode
Or, go ahead and blame the tournament for no new episode tonight in particular. There are two more episodes to come this season. We’ve already given you some previews for “Refuge” airing on CBS next week, and for this article we thought that we would offer up something further in regards the April 15 episode entitled “Bulletproof.” Take a look at the recently-released synopsis from CBS below:
“Eric must work with a past adversary to stop a hacker from activating explosions worldwide unless the NSA surrenders access to their confidential files, on the first season finale.”
One of the challenges in cultivating a finale for Ransom is that this is a show that is for the most part procedural. There are not too many threads that you have a tendency to see pop in from one episode to the next, which may be what created some further challenges in how this story was cultivated. Having some recurring characters turn up is a nice touch, and we wonder if there was a desire to create an ending that was something close to a cliffhanger given that there is potential to tell way more of this story in season 2. There are always going to be people who need Eric’s help.
As we’ve mentioned previously, CBS has until May to figure out the future fate of this show. That may be especially important since it could help the network look at some of the streaming and DVR data from the show to see if there are any ratings bumps. One of its biggest issues is that it airs on such a terrible night for TV. It’s really difficult to convince people to watch a show when they’re either not aware that it’s on, or simply have so many other things going on with the night as a whole.
