The Voice: Chris Blue, Vanessa Ferguson blind audition results!

Tonight on The Voice, we got a chance to see a Vanessa Ferguson blind audition that brought a great deal of entertainment to the table. For one, she performed “Don’t Let Me Down” by the Chainsmokers. Also, you got the sense very early on that she was someone who was used to being up on a stage. There is something about experience that there is no substitute for, and it could get her far later in the season when other contestants are a little raw and trying to find their persona and how to move about on stage. The era of blind auditions, after all, will be over soon.

Vanessa’s performance struck a chord with the coaches, but her decision wasn’t all that difficult. She had multiple options to choose from in between Blake Shelton, Alicia Keys, and Gwen Stefani, but she went into the show proclaiming that Alicia was an inspiration and had a big influence on her life musically. When you go into an audition feeling something like this, the odds are that you’ve already got it figured out what you want to do.

So yea — she totally picked Alicia, and maybe the two have a good chance of collaborating for a while. Her big challenge is trying to figure out how to push forward on this super-competitive team.

As for one other notable contestant tonight…

Chris Blue – Chris came out the show at the very end of the episode, and he was the final person who landed on a team. This made his performance all the more special, and we gotta say that it was worth it! Alicia once AGAIN managed to snag another really good person, which makes her team all the more dangerous. We do really think that she is in the best position moving out of this episode in order to win the entire season; we just have to figure out precisely what that means when we see what she does in the Battle and Knockout Rounds coming up.
