Mr. Robot season 3 delayed unti fall; BD Wong promoted; Bobby Cannavale joins
“Sam [Esmail] is a true creative visionary who continues to deliver a series that boldly tackles timely issues and leans into the major headlines of the day. We’re eager to share the next phase of Elliot’s journey with fans this fall.”
Given that Esmail will direct all ten episodes of the upcoming season 3, it makes more sense to give him some time to prepare. This is something that he’s been vocal about in the past, given that doing a show of this magnitude and this creativity is such a massive undertaking. It’s a little bit different than almost anything else that is out there.
If that news wasn’t enough for you, here’s something else to look forward to: You’re also going to get a chance to see Vinyl and Boardwalk Empire great Bobby Cannavale appearing as a series regular as Irving, a used-car salesman who is probably going to be so much more than what he appears to be on paper. You’re also going to have a chance to see a whole lot more of Whiterose, as BD Wong was recently promoted to series regular as well. This means that we’re getting a new tapestry moving into season 3, and that makes some sense given that the world of hacking and Elliot’s own circle would change and adjust over time. He’s not your typical character, and this is absolutely not your typical show. That is a major part in turn of what makes it so exciting.
This is not the first time that we’ve even heard recently about a show previously set for the spring or summer being pushed to the fall — we’ve already written extensively at the site about Outlander being pushed from its planned summer premiere all the way back to the fall.
