Ransom episode 10 preview: On ‘The Artist’ and better ratings
Last week, the latest episode of the show managed to draw a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic along with 3.9 million viewers. If this was a show that was airing on Sunday-Friday, we’d consider these numbers to be pretty poor and a one-way ticket to cancellation. However, on a Saturday they may be good enough for renewal. This marks the best performance for the series since the premiere episode aired on New Year’s Day and drew a 0.9. CBS had to expect the ratings to fall with the move to this timeslot, and the big question for them remains how much they expect out of a show that doesn’t require a heavy financial commitment from them as a co-production. Maybe this is good enough to get the show a season 2, at least if it keeps it up.
Now that we’re all so happy and optimistic, let’s get to sharing a few more details from “The Artist,” which is the new episode of the series airing in just one week’s time.
Synopsis – “Eric and the team begin negotiating the return of valuable paintings stolen from an art gallery, but the situation gets complicated when the thief then kidnaps a gallery staffer.”
Obviously, this is a show where there is going to be some sort of hostage crisis on a weekly basis, and the challenge for Eric and the rest of his team is trying to figure out precisely how to resolve the situation without anyone getting hurt. What may be their advantage here is that this said thief may not be all that interested in killing someone. This could be the leverage that Eric needs in order to ensure that he gets the staffer out of the situation unscathed.
