Feud: Bette vs. Joan video: Jessica Lange, Susan Sarandon take you behind the scenes

Jessica Lange, Susan Sarandon -

Come Sunday night, Feud: Bette vs. Joan will be bringing all sorts of epic awesomeness to FX, whether it be from Jessica Lange, Susan Sarandon, or anyone else in the cast. This is a show that has some real heavy hitters behind it when it comes to talent.

As for the video below, consider that your glorious window into everything that you can expect to see in this series. In this clip, you have a chance to hear from many of the show’s cast members, whether it be Lange, Sarandon, Alfred Molina, or Catherine Zeta-Jones, about the Old Hollywood roles they are playing and the source of one of the greatest big-screen battles on the set of What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? so many years ago.

Superficially, one thing to love about the project is how clearly this is a labor of love for executive producer Ryan Murphy. There are so many famous feuds out there, and within that context, he could have chosen almost anyone to be a part of this show. Yet, he decided specifically that what he wanted to do was focus in the lens on Bette Davis and Joan Crawford (two of the most legendary actresses of all time), and you get the sense that this is a time period that he especially loves and a story that he’s spent a lot of time looking into.

As for the style, this show should be a combination of many of his other past efforts. Consider it this way: Feud is going to have the visual presentation of American Horror Story with the showbiz feel of Glee and the snark of Scream Queens. Maybe it won’t have the power of The People v. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story, but it will have that sort of true-story element to it.

In the end, the biggest reason to watch Feud is simply that Murphy does not tend to do you wrong in the first seasons of his shows. Sure, you can argue that Glee and others have a habit of going supremely off the rails as they go along, but they all tend to start off with a tremendous wallop of great entertainment.
