MasterChef Junior season 5, episode 4 preview (exclusive): Gordon Ramsay, the walking corn dog
Thursday night’s new episode of MasterChef Junior will be here before long, and at the center of this episode will be a time-honored tradition — watching Gordon Ramsay figure out a way to get various stuff dumped on him a la an episode of Double Dare or one of those other classic Nickelodeon shows.
In the exclusive sneak peek below, you can see Ramsay getting basically varying degrees of corn-dog batter dumped all over him. This is connected in some way to a challenge tonight, and everyone seems to be having a rather-great time watching it happen (especially fellow judge Christina Tosi). This is the sort of stuff that never happens on the flagship show. In turn, that’s what makes it so much fun here! It’s in the spirit of this show to have judges be a bit self-deprecating, and appeal towards the kids who are in the competition. Having them be encouraging and less intimidating is a good way to do that.
While this moment is worth some laughs, soon after that the young home-cooks have to realize that this is still a competition where they need to impress Ramsay and Tosi in order to win at the end of the show. We’ll see what happens in that department tonight, but if the rest of the episode is anything like this, we presume it’ll be entertaining and then some.
Some other highlights worth checking out before tonight
If you head over to this link, you can see our exit interviews with the recently-eliminated Elisabeth and Solomon. We’ll be continuing to do these exit interviews throughout the season via email, so that’s something to look forward to in the days that follow the episode airing.
Meanwhile, you can also head over here to see our most-recent episode review. We’ll be back to do more of the same a little bit later tonight, so come back to the page for that then!
