Major Crimes season 5, episode 17 preview: A Sharon – Andy surprise

Do you love the Sharon – Andy relationship? Then the March 15 episode of Major Crimes (season 5, episode 17) is probably the episode for you more so than any other. There may not be too much known about “Dead Drop” at moment (TNT doesn’t like to give too much away in advance), but based on what we do know, every indication is that this episode will be big for the two characters in particular. Maybe it’s a romantic moment, or maybe it’s just the two getting the opportunity to do something they enjoy.

One way or another, we’ve got some of the first details for you below.

Synopsis – “Major Crimes finds a very heavy body forty feet up a tree surrounded by loose pot when Dr. Morales shows up to the crime scene with his father, a retired detective from Uruguay. Meanwhile, Julio Sanchez works to obtain legal guardian of Mark Jarvis while Andy Flynn prepares a special surprise for Sharon.”

One of the things that is rather nice about this upcoming episode is that it does provide a great opportunity to see the show tie together some loose ends. For example, with that Mark Jarvis – Julio story, we get to see if this arrangement can actually work out despite many of the bumps in the road. What the show’s done a great job of there is showing how this can be a difficult process, and the sort of heroism Julio is capable of not just on the job, but also at home trying to be a good father figure for someone who absolutely had a difficult, traumatic life up to that point. He’s giving him a chance to turn things around.

Ultimately, the case itself should prove to be rather interesting given that you’re dealing with a body that could not have made it to where it was found with zero effort. This should lead to quite a few surprises of its own. Anytime the show can find a way to come up with a new idea for a case this far into the run, we’re going to be entertained.
