FEUD: Charles and Diana to be season 2 of Ryan Murphy FX anthology

FX isn’t waiting before making one thing clear today: They are rather fond of Ryan Murphy’s project FEUD. How much so? They’re ordering another!

Today, the network confirmed that they have renewed the anthology series for a second season, even before the first season premieres on Sunday. Not only that, but they’ve announced the title for it in FEUD: Charles and Diana, just in case you wanted some controversy.

Is it a great move for Murphy and his team to focus on something like this? We’re of odds, much in the same way that we were at odds over what we first saw when it comes to the idea of making the next American Horror Story themed around the Presidential Election in some way. There are some things that feel either too sacred or too delicate to go big and bold on, and Princess Diana is a tricky one. She’s so beloved by so many people, so do you really want to alter that perception in any way?

FEUD: Charles and Diana will run for ten episodes in total, and for now the formal premiere date for the series seems to be at some point in 2018. This is going to turn out to be an insanely busy year for Murphy, given that he not only has this show and Horror Story, but then also two seasons of American Crime Story planned. There is the one themed around Hurricane Katrina (which seems almost like a separate entity more so than a part of that anthology) and then there’s also Cucanan / Versace, which is themed around one of the more brutal sagas and murder cases that we’ve seen. (For those who missed it, Darren Criss of Glee was recently cast in that project.)
